Android 12L will be available this year on the new Surface Duo.
In its latest news from yesterday, Microsoft unveiled the first look at how Android 12L will run on the Surface 2 with design influences from Windows 11. This is according to Windows Central.
Some companies have already started shifting their tablets and foldables to Android 12L, and Microsoft is expected to follow suit soon.
According to screenshots published by WindowsCentral, the update includes a redesigned notification panel, blur effects, and a new Settings app with Windows-inspired icons. It also allows you to run Android apps on a Microsoft Surface Duo like Windows PCs.
Apart from a redesigned UI, the Surface Duo will also get Android 12L’s Material You accent colors based to the wallpaper you have. Microsoft has told Windows Central that Android 12L for the Surface Duo will “begin rolling out later this year”. The update is likely available for both the Surface Duo 1 and 2.
